Roof Wizard – The software to estimate all your roof and wall systems
The Roof Wizard gives you a complete set of 3D virtual tools and forms for roof modelling, estimating and presentation.
It makes roof modelling and estimating easy, accurate, and efficient because with it, you can create precise 3D models and accurate quotes for a wide range of roof designs – with verifiable accuracy. In addition, the system will give you a list of all materials the roof requires, right down to the last clip and screw. Finally, the Roof Wizard creates a complete set of forms and documents you will need down the track.
Completing a job in Roof Wizard – The process
There are four typical steps in the ‘AppliCad Process’ of completing an estimating job:
1. Model the roof
First, start by modelling the roof with Roof Wizard’s many design functions. While designing an accurate roof model you will be checking that all the measurements and dimensions are correct. You can create most roof models with all kinds of features within minutes. Changing and adding roof features is also easy because the software allows you to change any roof element just with a few clicks of your mouse.
2. Select the material
Choose your roof materials and accessories from the RoofWizard’s extensive materials database. The software will calculate the roof coverage for all your materials. Then, the software will calculate the exact quantities of all materials you need. If your material is not in our software as a standard choice, it is available with AppliCad’s wide range of custom and extra items.
3. Simulate the laying of the material
Next, lay out the material of your choice on the roof design model. This way you can be sure that you have covered all areas of the roof completely, and that you haven’t forgotten anything. In fact, you will have pre-built the roof and checked it before anyone has picked up any tools.
4. Take off and quantify
Finally, choose the type of quote or take-off you need. Depending on the job you may only need the materials price, or you may need to calculate the labour, too. Roof Wizard will calculate all the materials (with or without labour), and give you all the documents you need – for production and installation. This means you can easily print your quotation letter, a detailed description of labour and materials needed for the roof, order forms, labour summaries, roof section panel layouts and more.
Import, scale and trace over your roof plan, saving lot’s of time and increasing accuracy.
Save hundreds of hours in estimating time with the Roof Wizard
Roof Wizard will pay for itself in just a few months, even on the basis of just one quotation per day. We know this from feedback we receive from our clients all over the world.
For example, a single estimating job that typically takes 35 minutes using traditional methods could take just 5 minutes using the Roof Wizard. Saving 30 minutes per job adds up to an amazing 100 hours over a whole year!

Which operating systems does Roof Wizard run on?
All AppliCad software runs on Microsoft Windows operating systems (O/S), in all versions. Any PC with Microsoft Windows will run our software. The Roof Wizard, being a full 3D CAD modelling program, does like to have a minimum 4GB of RAM to operate. Current generation computers usually have more than enough RAM. In addition, the software also works perfectly on a Mac with a Windows enabling sub-system such as ‘Fusion‘ or ‘Parallels‘ and Microsoft Windows installed. A mouse with two buttons and a scroll wheel is also highly recommended.
We have also found the Mac application ‘Crossover’ from CodeWeavers allows our Roof Wizard to run on a Mac O/S without installing Windows O/S.
